What To Do In An Emergency

Follow these essential protocols during different types of emergencies.

Earthquake

  1. Duck, Cover, and Hold under a sturdy desk or table
  2. Stay away from windows, shelves, and heavy objects
  3. If outdoors, move to open area away from buildings
  4. After shaking stops, check for injuries and damage
  5. Be prepared for aftershocks
  6. Listen to official CDRRMO advisories

Typhoon

  1. Monitor PAGASA weather bulletins closely
  2. Secure loose objects and board windows
  3. Prepare emergency kit: water, food, flashlight, radio
  4. Evacuate if in flood-prone or landslide-prone area
  5. Stay indoors during the typhoon, away from windows
  6. Wait for official "all clear" before going outside

Flood

  1. Move to higher ground immediately if flooding starts
  2. Never walk or drive through floodwaters
  3. Disconnect electrical appliances if safe to do so
  4. Report to nearest evacuation center
  5. Avoid riverbanks and drainage channels
  6. Call CDRRMO if you need rescue: 062-214-1234

Fire

  1. Alert everyone and evacuate the building immediately
  2. Call BFP at 160 or 911
  3. Crawl low if there is smoke
  4. Do not use elevators
  5. Meet at designated assembly point
  6. Do not re-enter the building until cleared by BFP
